Spain Digital Nomad Visa from Saudi Arabia: 2025 Guide

How Saudi nationals and residents can apply for Spain's Digital Nomad Visa and live in Europe while working remotely.

For professionals and entrepreneurs based in Saudi Arabia who work remotely, Spain's Digital Nomad Visa offers a unique opportunity: the chance to live in one of Europe's most vibrant countries while continuing to earn from their existing clients and employers outside Spain. With direct flights from Riyadh and Jeddah to Madrid and Barcelona, the move is more straightforward than many expect.

Eligibility for Saudi Nationals

Saudi nationals and expatriates based in KSA can apply for the Digital Nomad Visa provided they: work remotely for a company or clients based outside Spain, earn at least €2,646/month gross, and have not been resident in Spain in the previous 5 years. Both employed and self-employed applicants can qualify.

Key Documents

Required: valid passport (min. 1 year validity beyond intended stay), employment contract or proof of self-employment, last 3 months' bank statements, criminal background check from Saudi Arabia (Ministry of Interior — must be apostilled and translated into Spanish), private health insurance covering all of Spain, and accommodation evidence.

Applying at the Spanish Consulate in Riyadh

Saudi nationals apply at the Spanish Consulate General in Riyadh (or Jeddah). Processing typically takes 20 business days from the date of submission of a complete file. We coordinate the full dossier, including the apostille of Saudi criminal clearances through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Tax Benefits: Beckham Law

Saudi professionals relocating to Spain under the Digital Nomad Visa can apply for Spain's Beckham Law, resulting in a flat 24% tax rate on Spanish income and an exemption on most foreign-source income for 6 years. Given that Saudi Arabia has no income tax, this is an excellent transitional structure for clients who continue earning from Saudi sources.

Family Members

Your spouse or civil partner and dependent children can join you in Spain under the same application. Each family member receives a TIE (foreigner identity card) and the right to live, study, and access public services in Spain.
